Ain’t It Cool News has confirmed a rumor that fan fave actor Simon Pegg, who played the Editor in the 2005 Doctor Who episode The Longest Game will be playing one of the Thomas’ in the Steven Spielberg/ Peter Jackson Tin Tin film. Pegg’s friend and frequent partner, Nick Frost will be playing the other Thomas. As we reported here, Thomas Sangster, who played Tim in the 2007 two parter Human Nature/ Family of Blood was to play the title role of Tin Tin. Sadly because of production delays he can no longer take part in the film (which is sad because he would have been brilliant). Tin Tin will be filmed as a CGI animated film using motion capture techniques used in films like Beowulf and The Polar Express. “Filming” is set to begin next month. For those who need to get a Simon Pegg fix, the outspoken Star Wars fanatic will be appearing in an action/ sci-fi flick called Star Trek this summer. Wonder if it will be any good?

I look forward to seeing him in both Trek and Tin Tin. I hear he will be playing Scotty in Star Trek.

Yes. He perfected his accent with help from his wife who is Scottish. From what I’ve seen of him in the trailer, Scotty looks to be a bit of a danger seeker type. Which would be cool…
