The Doctor on the Silver Screen?

While a guest at the 2008 Edinburgh TV festival new Doctor Who show-runner Steven Moffat said not to rule out a possible big screen Doctor adventure. As long as it doesn’t interfere with the show.

“As long as it was great and fantastic then yeah. But a film is on [for] 90 minutes and that is not as important as the series. But as long as it doesn’t get in the way of the show we could do it.”

While two 1960’s films starring the legendary Peter Cushing as the Doctor received much scorn from fans and critics, a new film might be just the thing with the revived show more popular than ever and a series of specials standing in for the next season (which will air in 2010).
