It was recently reported at dsfanboy.com that Britain will be getting a Doctor Who video game! On the odd side, it is an adaptation of the Doctor Who special edition of the popular English card game Top Trumps (which recently hit the X-Box Live Arcade In It’s Original Form), though the game will reportedly feature a story mode where the player can assume the role of the Doctor, Martha, Captain Jack or a series of unnamed enemies.

Although plans were revealed for a Nintendo DS, PC and Playstation 2 release, there are no details on whether the game will see a U.S. release.
On a personal note, I’ve always thought that a Doctor Who game in the vein of the Lego Star Wars games would be incredibly fun. I know that our beloved Who isn’t a big enough property to warrant that kind of treatment but just imagine all the unlockable characters! Ten doctors! A multitude of companions! Daleks, Cybermen, Ice Warriors, Slitheen! With such a rich history, just think of the things they could do.
