Commerce of the Daleks
Oh the joys that E-Bay can bring to the Dr. Who fan. A Who fan in the US (in my native Virginia actually) recently dished out a whopping £3200 (about $6500 American) for a replica Dalek costume. A small run of these original costumes were produced shortly after the series began in 1963 before the factory producing them burned down. The E-Bay auction is notable as this costume is thought to be the only one left in existence with it’s original box. Reportedly the seller (one John Jackson of Chester in the UK) had low expectations for his item, hoping for a mere £10, instead reaping a 300% profit. Who says being a memoribilia hoarding uber-nerd doesn’t pay off?

I thank you for the link. I really want to find the person who made the purchase. Hope I can find that person. If you know that person, please ask him or her to call me.

I know myself, if I had the tools, I would love to build a dalek costume.
