Doctor Who Composer Dies…
Trisram Cary, who composed the music for a number of early Doctor Who episodes, passed away on Friday at the age of eighty-two. Cary was a pioneer in the world of electronic music. While serving in the Royal Navy during World War II he came up with his own take on electronic tape music. After the war there was a surplus of allied and axis electronics that Cary began fiddling with. Cary also helped design the synthesizer used by Roger Waters and The Who. In the 1960’s, Cary composed the scores for many Doctor Who episodes. Among them were The Daleks, Marco Polo, The Daleks’ Master Plan, Power of the Daleks, and The Mutants.
